First, I have to say that I love many of the parodies of Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines. There are quite a few that have focused on the controversy with the lyrics that sound very…rapey.
My question is why is it ok for a video like the original Blurred Lines to be made, but if a video is made that does the same thing but with the roles flipped, its not ok. I feel like if this video was the "original," there would have been more of an outcry.
**There's some language and bare butts in the video.
I saw this a while ago when "Blurred Lines" was really popular. I thought it was a really interesting reversal. It reminds me of a video by Marina and the Diamonds "How to be a Heartbreaker" that features men in the same way. That video garnered a whole lot of attention for its sexism and what-not. Marina actually spoke out about how hypocritical it was to flag her video for overt sexuality when women are presented half nude in countless videos.
