Today women are so self conscious about their weight and looks. It is now starting to affect a younger age group! When I was younger I didn't even know what a "fat" kid was. We were not raised that everyone is supposed to be skinny and look a certain way. A lot of what leads to a woman having an eating disorder is all of the media and comments made that distinguish someone being "fat". What does this even mean. I thought I was an average size until I started looking into it all. I am obese in the eyes of America. This word made me sick to my stomach. As I have gotten older I look at models and wish I looked like that. And why is that? Because that is what we are told to look like? A few years ago there was a "fat" Barbie put on the market! I think that this is seriously the best thing that they could have made. This is a way to show little girls that not everyone is skinny and it is okay that you are bigger and different! I looked into it more and some of the comments are extremely ridiculous. "This whole plus-size Barbie thing is utterly ridiculous. Since apparently we're encouraging obesity, lets also come out with diabetes Barbie." "Barbie is a role model for young girls. Creating a
#PlusSizeBarbie allows them to think obesity is acceptable when it's a growing problem." They may have taken the Barbie to an extreme but they are trying to show little girls that not everyone is a skinny Barbie and you can still be big and beautiful
