I bet most of you (other than Grove) did not know this, in 1967 ran for Congress for the state of California, attempting to become the first woman in the Golden State’s congressional delegation. As you can guess she did not win, but she had an active campaign which addressed the topic of her day like out of 38 reps California had in the House not a single one was female, therefore no female viewpoint or voice of a Californian woman was present in the U.S. House. I do not know why she run again but I am not surprised very much. I mean not only was she trying to be the first women Cali sent to House of Reps ever but she was a child star and to most was always seen as that child or in that role. Before today I need no idea want she looked like past the age of like 14. It is sad.....I bet to a lot of people at the time she was not seen as a serious political hopeful who actually would be one of the political voices representing California on the nation stage, but she was seen as her ironic self, the red head curly top from the movie. Well regardless of her political fail, she was still an amazing person that will be missed. RIP Shirley Temple Black
