"You must be PMSing"

I really can't tell you how many times I've heard or heard about some guy saying to a woman "you must be on your period" in order to negate a woman's completely justifiable response to his actions. The idea that a woman is unable to control her emotions due to her hormones is a vicious fiction that permeates our society and puts women on the sidelines time and time again because "They are too emotional to have any real power."

There's another phrase I saw once which read something along the lines of "If women ran the world there would be no wars, just a bunch of angry countries not talking to each other." (And, really, would that be such a terrible thing?)

It's just another way to try to discredit women. The fiction goes such that men are strong because they can control their more 'feminine' emotions like compassion and empathy but revel in manly sentiment like anger. And women, who fly off the handle at the faintest wisp of emotional engagement, would be ill fit to have any real power.

The screen caps are from a Korean movie called Love Fiction.
