Babies First Bra
What has this world come to? A French company has began to make lingerie for little girls. What could this possibly have anything positive come from it. All that it is teaching these little girls is that they need to be sexy or else they will not have a good life. This just adds to the reasons why girls are viewed for their body rather than their mind. Why any parent would buy this for their child is beyond me. Lingerie for little girls will only help add to the horrible body image that girls feel that they need to be. This should be stopped before it becomes a world wide problem.

I am quite dumbfounded by this. It amazes me that someone would even come up with an idea like that.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting find after watching Missrepresentation. Sometimes it seems society is progressing, and then something like this comes up, and it perfectly demonstrates the obstacles of faulty social constructs, stereotypes, and values. I wouldn't be surprised to see more controversy over this. It's truly shocking.
The good news is that this was posted in 2011 and we haven't seen it spread to much. At least I had never heard of it. Hopefully, that is because it wasn't successful.
ReplyDeleteWow. I mean- how are we supposed to continue to condemn pedophiles if we insist on sexualizing little girls at younger and younger ages? For me, this (the child's lingerie) can sit right beside "Toddlers and Tiaras" in the realm of completely deplorable.
ReplyDeleteNow, on another note, I would like to point to the fact that this is something that is, yet again, being done to little girls. No one is trying to amp up the sexual appeal of little boys. It is just another means by which societies are trying to teach little girls their place in life. They are meant to be objects for another's sexual gratification. The earlier they learn this, the better.
