Burger King Commercial
I love to watch commercials and see how sexist they are ever since we watched Miss Representation. This commercial does a fantastic job describing how every women "should" dress. This stereotype is stupid. I don't understand why the media feels the need to present women in such a sexual way. This just teaches young girls that in order to be successful that have to be sexy. This can lead to eating disorders because of girls trying to be this image.
I think it would be interesting to hear what these actresses say about commercials like this and if they view it that way when they are participating in them. I don't think that it's a surprise to anyone that sex is used to market goods and services. It's been happening for decades, yet it still continues. So, people are supposed to spend their time explaining to their children why not to buy into those ideas rather than changing the commercials and media itself. Sounds like treating a symptom and not the real problem.
