Snickers teamed up with ad agency Clemenger BBDO Melbourne to create a spin on its "You're not you when you're hungry" campaign. The new ad takes the stereotype of cat-calling construction workers and asks, "What happens when builders aren't themselves?"
Turns out they end up yelling empowering statements to women walking by. Here are some of the "cat-calls" they yell; watch the video to hear some other good ones:
"You want to hear a filthy word? Gender-bias!"
"I appreciate your appearance is just one aspect of who you are!"
"You go, girl!"
I loved seeing the surprised and happy reactions of the women in the video. THIS is how women should be approached and treated.
I saw this a few days ago and I thought it was pretty cute. I think it's kind of weird that there's a Snickers logo at the end though. Like- are they insinuating that being hungry excuses gender slurs or is Snickers just coming out as an advocate for women's rights? Hopefully the latter. Great post, Ana!
