So today I was getting lunch at Noyer and one girls sweatshirt caught my attention. It said "A woman's place is in the HOUSE and the SENATE." It made me chuckle because I love puns. But furthermore I really liked the idea behind it. You don't see too many college students being overly vocal about their political views, but this statement was loud and clear. Of course, "house" in this case likely meant House of Representatives. But, many people probably read it as a domestic household. I like how it appealed to both groups. For one, it was saying that a woman definitely belongs in politics. For the other, it shows that a woman is capable of being a maternal figure, while also existing in the political arena. Any thoughts from you all?
Here's what it looked like for those who are curious.
