Selfies for Charity

I found this really cool video journalism piece on CNN.com about women in the UK, and now the US, using selfies to bring awareness for cancer and to encourage viewers to take part in cancer research charities.

The thing that makes these selfies so special is that these UK women are not wearing any makeup.  No ones quite sure how the craze started for certain, but the hashtag #nomakeupselfie has become a major hit.
Even celebrities are now joining in and the event is now believed to have raised nearly 3.3 million in cancer research.

At first I kind of thought what does not wearing makeup really have to do with cancer, but running a marathon doesn't really relate any better, but people love doing it.  So, using a viral craze to raise money for such a needed charity is fine by me as long as it helps people.
