Volunteering

After watching the film Missrepresentation this week, I was considering how important it is that we do our best to be better role models for future generations.

Many programs in the Muncie community offer adults an opportunity to volunteer with youth whether it is tutoring, after school programs, or extracurricular activities. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is one such organization in which you can volunteer. They offer several great experiences to the youth and the adults that volunteer.

They provide a brief mission statement online:
“To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie provides:
  • A safe place to learn and grow
  • Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals
  • Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences
  • Hope and opportunity”
I encourage you to visit the website and see what the club is doing in our own community and possibly to volunteer.

  1. The Boys and Girls Club is a great organization! My nephew goes there after school most days and he loves it. My cousins also enjoy the summer program they put on for kids.
