Girl Beauty Pageants

I found a slide show by CNN of a young girl named Emily who is competing in girl beauty pageants.  In some of the pictures, she is in "full glitz" and looks like she is in her twenties, not 11.  It is sad that parents are willing to enter their young daughters into competitions that celebrate outer beauty, not intelligence or talents.  In a society that see countless girls suffering from eating disorders and low self-esteem, I feel really sad that people are pushing impossible beauty standards on young girls and setting them up for disaster.
