Stand Your Ground
Have you guys seen this? A senate committee in South Carolina has voted to expand their state's Stand Your Ground to fetuses. I think this is just ridiculous. Its definitely a "back-door" way of passing personhood laws.
I haven't heard about this, but wow. I am not understanding the rationale behind the legislation other than to start confrontation with doctors that provide abortions. One of my favorite lines of the article: "Escalating a violent situation, rather than retreating, could put women and their fetuses in more harm." That's basically how I feel. Not sure what allowing pregnant women to tote guns around is going to solve, as far as eliminating the threat of violence specifically to the fetus? Asinine law.
