Pointlessly Gendered Products

I came across an interesting article on Buzzfeed, titled "21 Pointlessly Gendered Products", that compiled a list of products that have been needlessly marketed gender-specific. Many of us remember the media hit Bic took when they rolled out a line of pens "for her" last year. Similar ridiculous product marketing measures to women are highlighted in this list - including gender specific kleenexes, tea, beer, and even ear plugs.

When we, as a culture, needlessly call attention to our gender differences by masculinizing/feminizing our advertising and marketing, we overlook the progress we've made as a society to overcome the stereotypes that have hindered progressive reform in equality among the sexes.
