Making NFL History as a Female

Since the Superbowl was tonight, I thought that this article was very fitting. In 2012, Shannon Eastin made NFL history by being the first women to be an official in a regular season game. I thought it was interesting that the only time her ponytail could be shown was during the national anthem. After that, she was told to tuck it inside her hat for the rest of the game.

  1. This is a really interesting article. It struck me that she mentioned working extra hard to prove that she is where she belongs. I think her officiating the game does say a lot, but her thoughts say even more about where we're at as a society. Women are working so hard to prove themselves. It's inspiring, but it is still unbalanced.
