College Student Defends Her Job as a Porn Star
I came across this story of a Duke University student who secretly worked as a porn star and then made headlines by coming out and defending her "artistic outlet". She said that doing porn allowed her to feel empowered and free. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I think that it is really sad that a girl feels empowered by having sex for money. I think that this comes down to a society that often glorifies sex and treats women as sex objects that push some of these women to take part in the porn industry.

I saw this same story on CNN. I think it is interesting to see how everyone is viewing the situation. One woman said that people were so upset, because she feels so comfortable with her sexuality and women aren't supposed to be sexual beings. I think it's a little different exploiting sexuality for money, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have the right to an education either.
