Women in the Philippines were granted the right to suffrage
in April of 1937. This article highlights the roles women now play in the Philippian
political environment. The current 16th Congress has showed some
significant gains for women. The article explains the progress women have made
and highlights women and their position throughout. From the judiciary, to
foreign ambassadors, to cabinet officials, women are represented in government.
