Here's another gem I found (yes, on Tumblr... again. No, I really don't do anything better with my time.)
This one is about rape and power. It's about giving bodily autonomy back to women and showing young women that they are encouraged to fight sexual assault and that young men should respect a woman's no. It's about the new movie that has come out called Divergent.
Here's the link.
*Spoiler alert* I saw this movie today and greatly enjoyed it. I also read the book (in one day because it is that good). While I agree with the message the author of the article conveyed, I didn't get the same message when I read the story. Not in a bad way. As I read the book it wasn't rape of which she was scared. It was that he only liked Tris for her body and would leave her because she would not let him touch her. Also the people were not applauding because she said no to her aggressor. They were applauding because of the entire fear simulation and the speed she had going through it. Now, I agree with the author about the message, I just don't think it is the same as the novel.
