DC Mayoral Primary

DC Councilwoman Muriel Bowser topped incumbent Mayor Vincent Gray during the Democratic primary by double digits. Primary turnout was very low and she was able to run up the numbers on the westside of the city. She now goes into the general election as the strong favorite in a city with an overwhelming Democratic lean. She would be only the second female mayor the city has ever had. If she was elected to a second term she would be the first female to do so.
