The tv show Revenge

There was not an article or video clip that I wanted to post. There was a scene that stuck out to me last night while I was watching it. It was not a dramatic scene in the show, but it really got me thinking. There is an actress named Margo that is a very successful businesswoman that runs a magazine for her father in the United States. Her father is deciding that he wants to retire, and he had to decide if he is going to give the magazine over to his daughter who is very involved in it or his son that does not necessarily do that much. He chooses his son because he feels that Margo could not handle running the entire business. This made her very upset because she said that my father is punishing me for not becoming a wife and having children and  choosing a career path. She has been dedicated to the magazine since she was very young, and her brother would receive the family business with no knowledge about how it is run.
I just found this interesting because it shows that women are supposed to become a mom and not be involved in business and that is not fair. She should be allowed to run the business if that is what she really wants to do. Once again, the media is giving a false image that women cannot have a career and a family!
