Women In Combat
While doing my research for my paper about women being sexually assaulted in the military, I also came across several news articles about women in combat and how the ban on women in combat is being released. This is a great video.
I think you could say that by continuing to ban women from combat, inequality of status is being perpetuated. By banning women from combat it could also be said that they are perpetuating the idea that women are in some way incapable of defending themselves. This could even be relevant to the conditions surrounding the issue of sexual assault in the military.
This was a very well put together journalism piece. It gave all the relevant information without losing the interest of the viewer. I liked the comparisons made regarding how many jobs will now open up for women in the military.
