Recently, an old friend of mine posted this article to his Facebook page. And it got my attention for multiple reasons.
1) Jennifer Lawrence - it must be hilarious then
2) Wait, shaming Jennifer Lawrence?
I never really considered this point of view on the actress, simply because I can identify with her habits. But, I think Huff Post did an excellent job of bringing the issue to light. There's always been a stereotypical body type to live up to for women. For some, it comes naturally. So I'm still trying to piece together how I feel about the claims of this writer. Nonetheless, a good read.
I had never read this article before, but I had shared in these thoughts. I love Jennifer Lawrence, but every time she talks about body image I think: "You look just like the majority of Hollywood!" I used to struggle with weight when I was younger, and it is a struggle that never really ends. I'm considered relatively thin among college students, but I eat extremely healthy. I walk around dining areas and I see girls, much thinner than I, and they have twice the calories but look half the size. Weight is such a sensitive area, and it can be for both men and women. Sometimes I think people who don't really know shouldn't talk about it... it's more complicated that just saying F--- them.
